I won’t fight Shettima like Obasanjo did to Atiku – Tinubu

The presidential candidate of the ruling All progressive congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged to ensure a sound working relationship with his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima if voted into power.

Speaking Friday during a national youth townhall meeting held in Abuja, Tinubu took a jibe at the former President Olusegun Obasanjo who had a turbulent relationship with his running mate Atiku Abubakar when he was on the saddle between 1999 to 2007.

Amidst chant of “on your mandate we shall stand” by the vociferous youths, Tinubu said there is no way he would engage in an open fight with Shettima like the case between Obasanjo and Atiku.

Reiterating his stance that Obasanjo decision to endorse the presidential candidate of the labour party (LP) Peter Obi remain worthless, he expressed optimism that he would hand his rivals in the race for the exalted seat of the presidency a resounding defeat at the poll.

In a veiled reference to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led administration, Tinubu reminded the electorates not to make the mistake of allowing the repeat of sixteen years of profligacy and wastefulness of the hard earned resources of the country.

Recalling how he mentored dozens of youths including the Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila and his predecessor Dimeji Bankole over the years, the presidential candidate assured the teeming population of youths in the country that he would “create the enabling environment that would ensure they actualize their potentials in life.”

The former Lagos state governor promised to deploy his years of skills and expertise in statecraft to reposition the country for sustainable growth and development if voted into power.

Director General of the APC campaign council, Governor

Simon Lalong of Plateau state stressed the need to elect Tinubu at the poll in view of the fact that none of the candidates angling for the seat of the presidency can come near Tinubu on mentorship of young persons to occupy various elective and appointive seats.

Governor Yahaya Bello who led the APC campaign youths council described Tinubu whose track record of achievements remains a product that doesn’t need to be advertised to Nigerians again.

At the event graced by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state and several chieftain of the party, he assured that Tinubu, alongside candidates vying for various elective seats would sweep the poll with a landslide victory.
