Ibadan poly sacks lecturer over ‘sexual act’

The Governing Council of The Polytechnic Ibadan on Saturday announced the immediate sack of a lecturer with the institution Mr. Ajadi Ojo Omotosho.

Before the termination of his appointment, Omotosho was a lecturer in the department of Urban and Regional Planning in the institution and was alleged of sexual act.

According to a letter signed by the institution’s Registrar /Secretary to the Council, Mrs. Modupe Fawale, the lecturer was sacked for his involvement in act of misconduct which resulted in “embarrassing and tarnishing the image” of The Polytechnic Ibadan, his employer.

Mrs Fawale in the letter dated September, 15, 2020 pointed out that the governing council of the institution approved the immediate termination of Omotosho’s appointment with effect from September 11, 2020.

“You will recall that you were engaged in an inappropriate behavior and a poorly managed relationship with your former student. These resulted in embarrassing and tarnishing the image of your employer, The Polytechnic, Ibadan,” she said.

The letter mandated the sacked lecturer to hand over all property of the institution in his possession to his Head of Department.
