IBB varsity raises fees for non-indigenes

The management of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has increased tuition fees for new students of the institution who are non-indigenes for the 2017/2018 session.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mohammad Maiturare, has confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that the institution has raised tuition fees for non-indigenes.
He said reviewing the fees had become inevitable because of the high operational costs occasioned by the prevailing economic conditions. The institution reviewed the fee from N52, 000 to N93, 000. The fee for Niger state indigenes however, remains at N52, 000.
He said that returning students were expected to pay N27, 000 for indigenes and N55, 000 for non-indigenes.
Bearing in mind that some students might not be able to meet the new obligation, the management had thought out the possibility of loan facility for students, which would be paid on instalmental basis.
Maiturare also said that management had in a meeting with the Student Union Government (SUG) agreed to extend the resumption date to give parents and guardians ample time to prepare for the new session.
