Ibenegbu thinks little of NPFL Super 6

Enyimba attacking midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has described as not do-or-die affair the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6 tournament in Kano.
The People’s Elephant qualified for the NPFL Super 6 on the strength of their third finish in the immediate past top-flight and will be joined in the prestigious preseason tournament by league winners, Plateau United, runners-up, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC, Aiteo Cup winners, Akwa United, hosts, Kano Pillars and CHAN Eagles.
The annual preseason tournament will hold from December 11 – 17 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Ibenegbu said the NPFL Super 6 tournament is squarely part and parcel of their preseason programmes to ensure the side excel in the continent and domestic league.
“For us the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6 tournament is not a do-or-die affair though we are certain to make our presence felt among the other participants.
“The goal is not 100% to lift the top prize the goal is to ensure we cement a perfect rhythm that will see us excel in the upcoming league season.
“The NPFL Super 6 tournament is part of our elaborate preseason programmes put in place to ensure a successful season.
“Our goal for the coming season is to go far in the Caf Confederation Cup if not lift the coveted trophy.
“Aside, we want to work very hard to ensure we win the league crown as well as the Aiteo Cup title.
“That’s our programmes for the upcoming football season and with the quality of players and coaches in our midst the season’s goals are quite achievable.
“We have gone far in our preseason programme and so far so good, we are still continuing on the path until we achieve 100% perfection.
“We want to challenge successfully all the laurels in the land in the coming season,” said the former Heartland and Warri Wolves goal poacher.
The NPFL Super 6 tournament preliminary fixture showed that the two-time African champions will square up against the league winners, Plateau United in matchday 1 clash on December 11 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
