Ibom Air to begin operations in Liberia, Senegal, Ghana, 4 others

Ibom Air has expressed readiness to begin regional flights to seven African countries as a move to expand its operations in 2023.

Speaking during a media parley in Uyo on Friday, the manager, communication and marketing of Ibom Airline, Mrs. Anie Essienette, said the flight operations to African countries would begin “in the next two months.”

According to her, Liberia, Senegal, Gabon, Ghana, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Gambia are the countries billed for the planned regional flight.

“Already, we have an invite to fly in the Gambia, but we will commence regional operations in the next two months. Ibom Air started with three aircraft, but in the course of our operations, two additional aircraft were acquired. When demand for our services was higher, we requested 10 more aircraft,” she said.

She said while waiting for the aircraft, two new airbuses were leased from Egyptians Airlines as Ibom Air pilots were trained pending the arrival of the ones ordered.

“Seven Aircraft have been booked for international operations. They will be throughout 2023. As we speak, some experts have gone to inspect it to ensure that the aircraft are built to our specifications.

“Before the end of 2023, Our Aircraft will be delivered but the airbuses will be supplied in tranches.”
