ICAPS begins managerial, leadership skills training

Imo College of Advanced Professional Studies (ICAPS) in collaboration with Benelux Institute of International Managers (Holland/Europe) has commenced a professional training on managerial and leadership skills.

Briefing newsmen at the weekend, the Director General of ICAPS, Mr David Day, said three European countries, namely Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg, were involved in the programme which had as its theme “Becoming a Manager with Global Recognition.”
He said the best managerial and leadership skills would be taught in the training which would help participants to be employed in any part of the world, adding that a country like Nigeria needed to be managed properly with management skills, if not, things would go haywire.

Day also said the duration of the training either three or six months or more would depend on the participant as there were certificate, diploma, and post-graduate diploma courses available in the training.

Also speaking, the Nigerian representative of Benelux Institute of International Managers (BIIM), Mr HAK Nkwopara, said Nigeria’s Management performance was her greatest problem even though she was richly endowed with natural resources.

He, therefore, sounded it loud and clear that to equip leaders and managers with advanced management skills that would help them solve their complex managerial problems the training was more than necessary.
