ICIN holds world Hijab day

The women folks have been admonished to be consistent in their wearing of Hijab, for Allah’s sake, and not dress in a manner that will entice the male folks.

Hajiya Khadijah Gambo Hawaja, stated this at the 2020 World Hajj day campaign, organised by the Islamic Counseling Initiatives of Nigeria  (ICIN), Saturday, in Jos.

She said: “Women should not only dress in other to entice men. Women should not dress beautifully  to look sexy before men.”

She stated that  Hijab is an Islamic injunction, which prescribed how a matured girl or an adult woman should dress to cover up her body from exposure to the attraction of those men that are their parents, husbands or relations.

“Islamic jurists stipulated four features of how a Hijab looks like; one it must be long to cover, it must be large to cover, it must not be tight to expose the body and it must not be fashionable to attract men,” she said.

Hajiya Hawaja said God has created women in general, with equal rights to men.

“God has created women with dignity and therefore we should act and dress decently to maintain that God- given dignity,” she said.

She stated further that as Muslim women they should be proud of what they are and what they have.

“It is important for the Muslim woman to always be in her Hijab, not just for celebration times,” he admonished.

The dxecutive Director of ICIN, Hajiya Fatima Suleiman, while appreciating the people that participated in the programme, said is a pride of the Muslim woman to be in her Hijab.

“As Muslims we must practice decency, we must be in Hijab and  be united to show case to the world that we are people of dignity,” she added.
