ICPC beams its searchlight on NIPC

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has invited for questioning some members of the governing body of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC).

In a letter dated December, 16, 2019 and signed by ICPC acting director of investigation, Hassan Mohammed, the commission said the invitation was in connection with alleged violation of the provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.

Among those invited include its chairman, Hon Babangida Nguroje and other members of the board.

Blueprint learnt that they are to appear in separate batches between Monday December 23 and Tuesday December 24. 2019.

The anti graft agency is mandated to investigate and prosecute all public officials involved in corruption allegations contrary to the rule of engagement prescribed for all public servants.

The later invitation is said to bother on financial scams which the commission has been investigating for sometime based on written evidences against the said officials by undisclosed persons.
