ICPC probes constituency projects in Edo

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences (ICPC), in Edo state has begun investigating constituency projects initiated by lawmakers in the State.

The State Commissioner of the agency, Barr. Yusuf Olatunji, disclosed that the commission was mandated to track up constituency projects initiated in the state by lawmakers

He warned against abandonment of projects adding that the commission is fully equipped to handle all forms of corrupt practices.

Olatunji said the move was in line with the directives of the federal government to probe all Constituency Projects across the states.

He also disclosed that the decision is to track new offences of corrupt practices and siphoning of public funds through questionable projects which according to him, cut across selected states in the six geopolitical zones.

According to him, ”as required, two states was selected in each of the Zones and in South South, Edo and Akwa ibom fall within the scope of selected states for probe.

”The two states fall under the first phase of the ICPC probe,” Olatunji stated.
