IEDPU seeks security surveillance in Kwara

The Federal Government has been urged to provide more security gadgets and improved surveillance in Kwara State to curb cases of bank robbery and other criminal activities in all parts of the state.
National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Ambassador Sheikh Usman AbdulAzeez, made the call yesterday at the palace of Olofa of Off a, Oba Mufutau Esuwoye.
Sheikh AbdulAzeez led over 30 members of the National Executive Council of the union to Offa to commiserate with the monarch over Thursday’s deadly bank robbery in Off a which claimed many lives.
The retired expert and diplomat noted that the security operatives in the state lacked sophisticated equipment that could adequately counter any serious challenge such as the one experienced in Off a last Thursday and appealed to the federal government to provide more sophisticated gadgets to the state with qualified and trained manpower that will curb the cases of bank robbery and other challenges in the state.
While commiserating with the royal father over the dastardly incident, he prayed God to put an end to the calamity in Offa in particular and the state in general.
The IEDPU President laterpresented the union’s condolence letter to the Olofa of Off a and prayed God to grant the departed souls eternal rest and give the entire people of Off a the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding on behalf of Olofa of Off a, the National President of Off a Descendants Union (ODU), Alhaji Najeem Usman-Yasin, thanked lEDPU for the visit and prayed God to end the unfortunate incident in Off a in particular and all parts of the state in general.
