Ifeanyi Ubah has dumped YPP for APC – Oshiomhole

Anambra South Senator-elect Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, who won election on the platform of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) has dumped the party for  the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). 

This is coming four days after he denied plans to dump the party.

National chairman of APC Mr Adams Oshiomhole said at the opening session of meeting of the party’s stakeholders at the Presidential Villa in Monday night that Ubah was now with the ruling party.

He said the YPP Senator-elect has decided to pitch his tent with the ruling party because he feels more comfortable with the winning team. 

He said issues partaining to the defection would be perfected at a later date.

Oshiomhole said APC stands a better ground to control the ninth Senate and House of Representatives. 

APC governors at the meeting were Mr Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state, Mr Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai of Kaduna state, Mr Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Mr Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state, Mr Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state, Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state, Kashim Shettina of Borno state and Gboyega Oyetala of Osun state.

Also present at the meeting were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha; former governor of Abia state, Mr Orji Uzor-Kalu; and former governor of Nasarawa state, Mr Abdullahi Adamu, among others.
