Igbawua campaign team lauds Atiku over appointment

The Campaign Team that worked for the Benue 2023 governorship aspiration of Hon. Barrister Chille Igbawua has commended the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, the National Secretariat of the party as well as major and critical stakeholders for the appointment of their principal as head of the Atiku/Okowa  presidential campaign for the North-central zone.

The team also expressed confidence that the choice of Hon. Igbawua would further energise and strengthen the party across the six states of the North-central given his huge contact base, experience, loyalty to the party, commitment and intellectual endowment.

Igbawua, a former member of the House of Representatives, former deputy chief of staff and special adviser on legislative/legal matters to two speakers of the House of Representatives, is the immediate past Chief Commissioner/CEO of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

He had aspired to fly the flag of the PDP at the just concluded governorship  primaries in Benue state but withdrew in the last minute following the zoning arrangement of the party in the state. He also chaired the forum of PDP aspirants for the 2023 governorship election in the state.

In a statement in Abuja on Monday, coordinator of the campaign team, Mr Andrew Oota, said the Head of the North-central Campaign of the Atiku/Okowa presidential ticket has the ability, intellect and competence to galvanise, coordinate and deliver on his mandate.

He stressed that the PDP will win North-central “convincingly and overwhelming.

The team assured that Benue state in particular, with a sitting governor, national chairman of the party, former president of senate, three senators, majority of the House of Representatives members, majority of the State House of Assembly members and all elected council chairmen as members of the PDP, the party will not struggle to win all the elective positions.

The team maintained that the PDP, as a legacy party with the right people to drive an issue-based campaign, will ensure that all hands are on the deck for a resounding victory come 2023 general elections in the North-central and across Nigeria.

The team expressed satisfaction that the five-point agenda of the Atiku/Okowa presidential ticket of Reunification, Economy, Security, Education and True Federalism speaks to the very issues that agitate the minds of Nigerians.

It stressed that the failure of the leading All Progressives Congress, APC, in all sectors is epic and Nigerians cannot afford the mistakes of the past, which consequences are starring them in the face.
