Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) Worldwide Sunday said fulani youths vigilante groups has been existing unofficially in South-east zone for decades.
The youth group disclosed this while reacting to the request by Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to officially establish youths vigilante groups to compliment efforts of security agencies and vigilante groups in the South-east to combat crime.
In a statement issued in Abakaliki by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the OYC condemned Myitte Allah’s request describing it as an attempt to “Fulanize” the south-east.
“The truth must be told that Fulani Youths Vigilante groups have been existing here in the South-east for decades unofficially, and we appreciate the comments of Chief Nwodo Jnr that he will resist the establishment of Fulani Youth vigilante group.
