IGC Inaugural Tourney: S/West Golf Club Captains to honour Ibironke, Okunola

Captains of notable golf clubs in the South/West geo-political zone of the country and top shots in the golfing community in Nigeria have signified interest to honour the Captain and Lady Captain of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Ola Ibironke and Mary Okunola by taking part in their inaugural golf competition.


The golf event tagged Dudu and Mary Captain and Lady Captain Day Kitty scheduled for October 2nd and 3rd will have super veterans taking to course to play a 9 holes golf tournament which will followed a cocktail on Thursday 2nd with the main competition that will be strictly by the draws in Stroke play format on Saturday 3rd at the greenish course of IGC.
The long list of the names of current and past captains of Clubs in the South/West that have registered to attend IGC’s captain popularly known as Dudu Heritage inaugural competition includes Uwem Udoh, the Captain of the golf section of Ikoyi Club and his vice captain M.I Okoro, Gboyega Omotoyinbo, Abiodun Abayomi, Wale Adeogun, Barin Epega, Chief Okafor, Segun Oyinlola, Ladi and Muyiwa Laniyan among others.


Golfers coming have been advised to have their sanitizer handy as they will be required to use it intermittently according to the Chairman Planning Committee, Akin Funmilayo who further charges visitors that will coming for the event to be prepared to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 measures as laid down by the Nigeria Center for Diseases Control (NCDC). 


“We’re going to adhere strictly to the established protocol of the Nigeria Center for Diseases Control (NCDC) as regards Covid-19 measures during the tournament as we’re already observing all precautionary measures against the pandemic at Ibadan Golf Club”, Akin Funmilayo noted.
