IGP Adamu wins award on probity, democracy, national unity

SocietyWatch Newsmagazine will Tuesday next week at a public ceremony in Abuja bestow upon the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, the coveted award of Icon of democracy, probity, national unity & development.

In a press statement released Tuesday, the magazine said the award is the result of a poll conducted and discussions the magazine held with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) which identified Mohammed Adamu as deserving of the award because of his excellent policing methods and contributions to the development of democracy, probity, national unity and development in Nigeria.

The statement by Publisher / Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Dare Balogun reads: “The professional and matured manner the Inspector-General, handled the EndSARS protest by Nigerian youth is commendable. His refusal to give Order to the police to use force has saved Nigeria millions of lives that would have been lost. This is excellent leadership.

“His wise and patriotic interventions have helped to avert countless crises across Nigeria that would have consumed lives and property of millions of Nigerians.

His words of caution and wisdom reverberate across Abuja, the 36 states and 774 local governments of Nigeria. Indeed, the IGP is a selfless leader for all Nigerians, regardless of ethnic, religious, cultural or political divides,”
