IGP’s insurance scheme: CP Kolo presents cheques to 10 deceased officers’ families

As part of the IGP’s welfare initiatives to serving and families of deceased officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara state Command, CP Kolo Yusuf, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, on Friday presented cheques worth over N30.5 million to 10 next of kins of deceased officers.

It included one CPL Sani Sagir attached to the Gummi Division who sustained injuries while on operations against bandits in the state.

This was contained in a statement Friday in Gusau by the Command’s spokesperson, SP. Muhammad Shehu, on Friday in Gusau the state capital.

“The cheques presentation was in continuation of the IGP’s group life welfare insurance/personal accident schemes for families of deceased officers, where cheques worth N34, 497,143.49 million were presented to nine next of kins, while a cheque of N100, 000 was presented to CPL. Sani Sagir attached to the Gummi Division as medical expenses for the injuries he sustained during operation,” the statement read in part.

“The gesture will equally boost the morale of the serving personnel to continue to put in their best in the ongoing campaign against activities of criminal elements across the country,” it read further.

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries, Charles Mark Jatau and Zainab Zubairu, who spoke on behalf of the others, thanked the IGP for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
