Iheanacho ready for West Brom – Coach

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has stated that Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho is in good shape ahead of Monday’s clash against West Brom in the English Premier League.
Shakespeare is banking on Iheanacho’s return to full fitness to halt the dwindling fortunes of his side this season.
Iheanacho’s start at Leicester City this season was blighted by a toe injury but the 21-year-old looks ready to make his second start for Leicester in Monday’s clash at the King Power Stadium.
“I am hopeful, we are now getting a fully fit squad back. There will be competition for places. We need that. We only have a few injuries now,” Shakespeare told Leicester Mercury.
“Iheanacho has started to look stronger and fitter in training.”
Iheanacho’s only start was against Huddersfield but he has made four substitute apearances as he pushes for a more prominent role in the team. The former Manchester City was an unused substitute for the Super Eagles in Saturday’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Zambia which sealed Nigeria’s place at Russia 2018.
Shakespeare also believes his side are on the right track to start a winning streak but insists the Foxes must adapt well during games.
Leicester City suffered defeats to Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool but beat Brighton and drew with Huddersfield and Bournemouth away from home in their opening seven games to record five points from a possible of 21.
“If we want to change shape and be adaptable during games it is nice to have that,” he added.
“We have been in all the games this season. Of course there are some where the opposition have dominated possession, but ultimately we have given everyone a game
“If we can turn some of those performances into points then we will be okay.”
2018 World Cup Qualifier: Rohr insists on strong Super Eagles squad vs Algeria
Despite qualifying for 2018 World Cup finals in Russia next year, Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr has insisted that the nucleus of his current squad will be invited for their last 2018 FIFA World Cup African qualifying Group B away match against Algeria next month on November 6.
The former Burkina Faso manager who led Nigeria to beat Zambia 1-0 last Saturday in Uyo has started discussing his programme for the Algeria match with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) chieftains though the gaffer has confirmed that the likes of captain John Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo are going to be excuse for the match due to logistics of connecting North Africa from China.
Other player likely to miss the match include Elderson Echiejele who suffered a groin injury in the match against Zambia, apart from the trio the nucleus of the team will be in Algeria to face the Desert Warriors.
The team media officer, Toyin Ibitoye disclosed yesterday that the priority of the Franco-German coach now is how to win the away match to finish the qualifiers with 16 points.
“We are all happy that we have qualified for the World Cup, but coach Rohr is not resting yet. He has started preparation for the Algeria match and he has insisted that he is going to use the best of his players in the away match,” Ibitoye said last night
“He has been discussing the next match with the FA, and his priority now despite qualifying for the World Cup, is to win the away match to end the qualifier with 16points.
“I think he believes winning the match will help the bonding in the team and also make the players to prepare for the future.
Super Eagles have an unassailable 13 points after five games in Group B.
Eagles’ll make us proud in Russia-Amiesimaka
The current crop of Super Eagles players will bring glory to Nigeria in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, a former Green Eagles player says.
Adokiye Amiesimaka, a former attacking midfielder on Thursday said in Lagos that the players had shown commitment to the task ahead. “I think we are privilege to have youthful, relatively youthful, skilful and committed players. I think we have a crop of players now that should be able to do us proud.
“And most of them, apart from the goalkeeper who is also brilliant and the only homed-based player, I gathered all the others are playing in professional teams outside the country. “And from what I have seen so far, they can hold their own and it’s important, and I’m very impressed that they are all very youthful.
‘’Apart from the Captain who is still very good and has a lot of experience to back him up; it will be a delight to watch the team play an exciting World Cup in 2018.’’ The Super Eagles clinched the sole ticket for the 2018 Russia World Cup from CAF Group B after a 1-0 win over Chipolopolo of Zambia at Uyo.
