I’ll clean up New Owerri before I leave office – Commissioner

Imo state Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Hon. Uche Nwosu, has assured Imo people that the ministry would clear all the bushes in the yet- to be- developed areas and estates in the New Owerri Capital Territory before the end of the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Nwosu, who made history by being the first commissioner in the state to pay a backlog of compensation fees to owners of plots of land acquired by the state government, said this would enable allotees of such lands to move in and develop them.

He added that because of the discovery that these bushes were used by kidnappers and armed robbers to hide their victims and commit other atrocities, it became expedient to embark on massive clearing of the areas at least to boost security of lives and property in the state.
“I can tell you that it has been my desire and it is a task that must be done,” he said.
