I’ll cure Nigeria’s economic sickness if elected – Lamido

Former governor of Jigawa State and PDP presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2019 election, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has assured that he will cure Nigeria’s economic and political sicknesses if he emerges the party’s presidential candidate and is eventually elected president in 2019.
The aspirant, who lampooned the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government accusing it of inflicting pains on Nigerians and instituting divisive tendencies, described the APC as an assemblage of evil-minded elements.
The aspirant, who stated this in Yola while addressing Adamawa PDP executives and other stakeholders at the party secretariat, was in Adamawa State in continuation of his nationwide Former Vice President and frontline contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket, Atiku Abubakar (left), and the Taraba state Governor, Mr.
Darius Isyaku, during Atiku’s visit to the governor in continuation of consultation with the PDP stakeholders, in Jalingo yesterday Photo: Atiku Media Office consultations ahead of the party’s presidential primary.
Describing the APC-led federal government as woeful, he observed that the APC has failed woefully to fulfil its campaign promises even in the key areas of security, corruption and economy, which the President Muhammadu Buhari promised Nigerians in the 2015 general elections.
Further, he explained that instead of fighting corruption and revamping the economy as promised, the administration has only succeeded in witch-hunting PDP members and other opposition parties as well as subjugate Nigerians to untold hardship, poverty and hunger.
He frowned at the incessant killings going on in the country under President Buhari and attributed it to leadership incapacity, which he regretted the president has demonstrated in the last three years.
Lamido, therefore, warned Nigerians against voting for the party in 2019 noting that should the APC retain power in 2019, the current suffering of Nigerian masses would escalate beyond redemption.
“We should forget Nigeria if the APC returned in 2019.
I am convinced that only the PDP will safeguard Nigeria and restore Nigeria to economic growth and prosperity”, he said.
Speaking earlier, the Director General of Lamido Presidential Campaign Organisation and former Minister of Justice, Barrister Musa Elayo Abdullahi, enumerated the achievements of Lamido and stated that he has the competence and experience to lead the party to victory in 2019.
He expressed concern over happenings in the country under the APC government stressing that Nigeria is in danger and urgently needs emancipation in 2019.
Also, Adamawa state PDP chairman, Barrister A.T Shehu attributed the APC victory in 2015 to some PDP members who defected to the party as a result of grievances, adding that without their defection the APC could not have been in power today.
He urged the eight PDP presidential aspirants to consider the possibility of presenting a common candidate for the party.
He described Lamido as the head boy among the aspirants based on his years of experience in politics noting he is well prepared to lead the initiative.
He appealed to them to put the interest of the country above their ambition adding that, Nigerians are suffering and the need them to come together and salvage Nigerians from the unfortunate situation the APC leadership has put the country and Nigerians.
