‘I’ll develop Kano if elected president’

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar met with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates from Kano with a pledge to develop the commercial city if elected President in 2019.
Kano, according to him, is like a home because he did not only go to School of Hygiene, Kano; he has a home in Kano.
Unlike in Jigawa state when Atiku pleaded with former Jigawa state Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido to step down for him, in Kano state where Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is also aspiring to be President of Nigeria on PDP ticket in 2019, former Vice President Abubakar throughout his speech did not mention Kwankwaso.
In fact, he was received in Kano by Senator Mas’ud Jibrin Doguwa, the chairman of dissolved PDP, Kano exco, instead of Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, the new PDP caretaker committee chairman in the state.
Dr.
Baraka Sani, former Commissioner of Agriculture under former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso received and hosted Atiku at Darul-Tauheed Event Centre that was attended by Senator Mas’ud Jibrin Doguwa, Dr.
Baraka Sani herself, PDP Chieftain Yahaya Umar Bagobiri, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, representatives of Ambassador Bashir Wali, former Speaker of House of Representatives, Salisu Imam Buhari and a host of other PDP supporters in Kano state.
Former Vice President, Abubakar visited Kano at a time when the politics in the State is undergoing series of crisis.
In fact, some PDP loyalist said that most of those who received Atiku in Kano were out to get what they can get from the Turakin Adamawa because one, they received him under the leadership of Mas’ud Jibrin Doguwa who was recently sacked by PDP Headquarters in Abuja and was replace by a Caretaker Committee headed by former Kano state S.S.G, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi and most of those who hosted Atiku in Kano were not delegates.
It is expected that head or tail, Rabiu Bichi will deliver Kano delegates to his boss, Senator Kwankwaso.
Similarly, two times governorship candidate,in Kano state, Mallam Salihu Sagir Takai who is a die- hard loyalist of former Kano state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has visited Suleiman Rabiu Bichi andpledged his loyalty to the Kwankwasiyya group, he also indicated his interest to contest for the governorship of Kano state on the ticket of PDP.
Takai told his supporters that the coming of Kwankwaso into the PDP should not be seen as a bad omen politically because if former Governor Shekarau can join APC and was given automatic ticket for Kano central, and the Sardaunan Kano did not see this as injustice done to other aspirants contesting for the same seat like Yusuf Gawuna, Senator Bashir Garba Lado, Ibrahim Kankarofi and the rest, then the issue of giving Kwankwaso upper hand when he joins PDP is in order because of his large followers in Kano.
He is also a serving senator and in 2015, Presidential primaries of APC, he came second to Buhari.
