I’ll generate electricity to actualise Benue’s industrialisation dream – Angya


Benue state governorship aspirant for the 2023 election, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Paul Angya, Monday promised to construct power project that will generate electricity to assist the state actualise its dream of industrialisation.

Angya who stated this Monday during the unveiling of his policy document entitled, “New Deal 2023”, stated that the gesture would help to improve the economic fortunes of the state adding that the excess electricity generated would be sold to the national grid.

Angya served as acting DG, Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

He noted that his administration will also focus on security, improve agriculture and health to assist the state boost its revenue base.

“We will harmonise our tax regime in order to attract investment to Benue.
“We will also eliminate multiple taxations and employ digital technology to help in tax collection.This will be possible as a result of my committee. They are only waiting for the time to come for them to exhibit their expertise.
“This will help the state government to step up Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and enjoy steady electricity supply as well,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pharmacist John Enger who is the chairman, Angya Think Tank called on the PDP in Benue to nominate Angya as its gubernatorial candidate to fly the party’s flag during the 2023 general elections owing to his numerous achievements and impressive track record.
