I’ll give priority to agriculture – Auyo

A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Danladi Auyo, has pledged to accord top priority to the agricultural sector if voted into power at the 2019 gubernatorial election.
Speaking to newsmen at his residence in Kano yesterday, Auyo said he was ready to take the bull by the horns to introduce the concept of mechanised farming in the state, adding that with the influence of oil waning across the globe, embracing agriculture was the way out of the present economic doldrums.
He pointed out that many developed nations of the world had noticeably achieved greatness and self-sufficiency in food production, citing the example of China and India.
He however stated that Jigawa was still crawling under the fangs of underdevelopment and backwardness as a result of leadership ineptitude, stressing that voting him to power in the 2019 would pave the way for repositioning the state on a promising pedestal.
He said the time had come for the electorate to realise the fact that the APC-led government in the country had failed to live up to expectation against the wish of those who voted President Muhammadu Buhari to power in 2015.
Commenting on the leadership credentials of the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Sule Lamido in the forthcoming 2019 Presidential election, Auyo maintained that the former governor would be the best presidential material in 2019, positing that the economic woes plaguing the nation would be over with Lamido as the next president.
He called on Nigerians to use their mandate in voting a person that would be bold and fearless in confronting some intractable challenges that bordered on corruption and economic decay stressing however that with policies inconsistency, the’ quest for development and progress would remain a mirage.
