I’ll give security top priority if elected- Adamu

The Peoples Party of Nigeria gubernatorial aspirant in Zamfara state,
Alhaji Bashir Adamu, has described security issues as his top concern
if elected as governor of the state at the next general election.

He made the pronouncement while fielding questions from Journalists in
Gusau shortly after he was turbaned as Danmajen Gusau by the Emir of
Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello on Saturday.

According to him, the current insecurity challenges in Zamfara state
has generated a lot of setback both socially, economically and
politically, hence the need to have total commitment by the authority
concerned to end the ugly trend.

He urged the federal government to increase the number of troops to
the state with enough arms and ammunitions for them to fight against
the dreaded groups of armed bandits’ activities whose purpose is to
humiliate innocent citizens of the state.

His words: “If elected under the umbrella of Peoples Party of Nigeria
(PPN) as governor of Zamfara state, the issue of armed banditry,
kidnapping and cattle rustling will be curtailed within a short period
of time.”

He commended Emir of Gusau, His Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello and
members of the emirate for coronation him with traditional title of
Danmajen Gusau, saying he will use his vast experience to ensure
development of the emirate.

He called on his supporters, especially youths, to remain united and
eschew any form of causing unrest during and after electioneering
campaign and elections.
