Ill-luck to blame for Nasarawa’s woes

Nasarawa United’s Abdulrahman Bashir has blamed ill-luck for their lack of success in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season after another loss in Lokoja against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday but reckoned that the Solid Miners will soon get their bearing back.

Th e Lafi a side fell to the goals of Musa Wakili from the penalty spot and Ebenezer Odeyemi in the 27th and 60th minutes but the forward revealed that with little luck the result would have gone diff erently at the Confl uence Stadium. “We have been putting in our best in all our matches but hard luck has been our major worry.

Even though I was not in Lokoja, I was told my teammates put in their very best deserved something from the match but they missed some chances they had,” Bashir said to Goal. “We won’t relent because the team is still the same and the aspiration is just like that of two seasons ago when we got a CAF Confederation Cup ticket from the league and last year when we got to the fi nal of the Federation Cup before our narrow loss to FC Ifeanyiubah on penalties.”
