I’ll rescue Akwa Ibom from present economic somersault – APC guber aspirant

Foremost business tycoon and politician, Ambassador Simeon Ime Udo-Ema, has assured Akwa Ibom people of good governance and plans to rescue the state from present economic “somersault” when elected as governor in 2023.

Udo-Ema, who made the disclosure at a well-attended inaugural ceremony in Uyo over the weekend on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he has the support of a good percentage of the state populace to take over the Hilltop Mansion.

He pledged that his administration will set the state on the path of economic recovery but lamented that Akwa Ibom people have over-experienced hardship in the midst of abundant human and natural resources.

“This generation of Akwa Ibom people have been tested by crises and hardship that steeled our resolve and proved lie resilience. A decade of war is now ending. An economic recovery has begun.

“My fellow Akwa Ibom people, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it, so long as we seize it together. Together, we resolve that Akwa Ibom State must care for the vulnerable, and protect its people from life’s worst hazards and misfortunes,” he said.

Earlier, he led members of his campaign steering committee to consult the state chairman of the APC, Dr. Ita Udosen.
Dr. Udosen appreciated the aspirant for believing that his mission can be accomplished on the platform of the APC.

He promised a level playing field for all aspirants vying for elective offices on the platform of the party.
The state chairman, however, urged the aspirant to remain committed to APC.
