I’ll restore federal presence in C/River North – Odey

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Cross River North bye-election, Dr Stephen Odey, has pledged to bring federal presence to  the senatorial district if elected during  the October poll.

Dr. Odey while speaking with journalists during the 60th independence anniversary in Abuja said attracting federal government’s  presence to Cross River North is his priority, having been used as purveyor of grassroots development and spread of educational facilities to the people of the state.

According to the former chairman of Cross River State Primary School Board, “Nigeria is work in progress and the people of Cross River North should be taken along in that process.

According to Dr Odey, consultation and human relations are the yardstick for accessing those who have the mind to serve their people, saying: “I want to use my closeness with the people to develop, empower and project them for the challenges of development.”

“For a long time, Cross River North has been neglected, deprived of good road network and other basic infrastructure necessary for development to take place. If elected  I’m going to work with my governor, Professor Ben Ayade and others in the cabinet to push for inclusiveness in projects allocation and development for the constituents by time I become the senator representing Cross River North.”

Asked why he is upbeat in running for the office, he said his aim is become a servant and show the road to service through the dividends of democracy   Senate is to serve his people and bring back home the needed democratic dividends to the people, assuring that his victory at the primaries attested to mass followership of the PDP and the love his people have for him.
