I’m ready to surety Nnamdi Kanu, free him now, Soludo tells FG

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Saturday, appealed for unconditional release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Soludo, who has assumed position as the National leader of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), said he could also take Kanu on bail as surety if the federal government was not comfortable with his unconditional release appeal.

The governor made the appeal at the APGA campaign kick-off in Awka, assuring that the detained leader of the proscribed group, would be accommodated and catered for in Awka and will be released to the federal government anytime needed him.

He added that “I am making a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally. If he cannot be released unconditionally, i want him released to me and i will stand surety for him. We need Nnamdi Kanu in the roundtable conversation to discuss the insecurity in the South East.

“We must end insecurity in the South East and we need Nnamdi Kanu to be around. We have applied the kinetic and non kinetic approach to fighting insecurity in the South East but the non kinetic approach cannot be complete without the Federal government releasing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We are Progressives and that is why we allowed other political parties and their candidates to come here on campaign because we believe in level play ground for all and sundry to Campaign which some people while they were here did not do.”

Earlier, the Presidential candidate of APGA, Professor Peter Umeadi, described himself as the most qualified candidate to lead the country, noting that his regime as President will unite the country.

Blueprint reports that at the rally, APGA handed over the flags of the party to the gubernatorial candidates of the party, States Assembly candidates and National Assembly candidates nationwide.
