Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi CIPD MSPSP: Bastion of Hope for IDPs/Migrants

If there is a political appointee that works round the clock, travelling from one place to another, from cities to rural areas with direct and unrestrained encounters with the less privileged in the society and showcasing the positive accomplishments of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, then, it is Hon Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.

With entrenched institutional frameworks, under the supervision of the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD) Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, Sulaiman Ibrahim has shown capacity and love for her assigned assignment seeking durable solutions for IDPs in Nigeria.

She was the director-general of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP from 1 December 2020 till 27 May 2021, when the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari announced a swap and she was redeployed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

Hon Imaan have spearheaded policies that would strengthen national response in areas of her mandate.

One of these programmes and project driver is the Project Educate All’ which has been conceived in line with the Commission’s work plan to address the growing challenge and learning needs of displaced persons as well as to ensure accelerated learning in emergency setting in line with global practices. The launch of the project complements the transitional learning centres that would further enhance the reading and fast-track learning for pupils in camps and host communities.

Yet another is the Project Skill Up, which ensure a whole of society effort to the provision of durable solutions for all persons of concern. It allows a concerted, cordinated and collaborative effort towards capacity building Programmes for Internally Displaced Persons, Refugees, and migrants in all sectors.

Other project drivers includes the Project Total Health, project Zero Hunger, project light up, project resettlement cities, These programs ensures the total reintegration, rehabilitation and resettlement of Persons of concern into society while ensuring durable and sustainable solutions and breeding self-reliance.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim Earned her BSC. Sociology from the University of Abuja in 1999. In 2001 at the age of 21 years, she secured two Master’s Degrees; Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Art in Management (MA), both from the Webster University.

Imaan did her NYSC with NNPC Kaduna Zonal office and worked as a pioneer staff at Abuja Geographical Information System (AGIS) . She Is a Certified SAP HCM consultant and worked in various capacities and programs. Imaan has a 9 years Awarding Wining Career and Experience with Mary Kay cosmetics UK, starting from the scratch as a beauty consultant and rose very quickly to being a top a
Senior sales Director and Member of the Advisory Board among others. She has mentored thousands of Women and men to self-sufficiency and activating Prosperity. She is a Co-Founder/President of The Beehive Initiative, a platform focused on nurturing politically inclined women and Civic advocacy which known now as The BumbleeBee Civic Initiative.

Imaan is actively in politics and was an Aspirant of the Federal House of Representatives, Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Party (APC) in the 2018 Primary Elections. She is a serving member of the Nasarawa State Investment and Economic Advisory Council appointed by The Executive Governor in August 2019.

From August 2019 to December 2020 She served as Special Assistant – Strategic Communication and Partnerships to the Minister of State for Education, Federal Ministry of Education until December 2020 when she was appointed by the President Federal Republic of Nigeria as Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) where she contributed immensely to the plights of trafficked persons and to Strengthen the National response to addressing Irregular Migration. During her watch, the Nigerian US Trafficking ranking rose a step from being on the tier 2 watch list to a Tier 2.

In May, 2021 she was Redeployed and Reappointed by the President as the Honourable Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), where she is currently serving.

She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute Personnel Development Associate (CIPDC). She is a Participant of the Executive Management Intelligence Course 14 which earned her the status of Fellow Security Institute fsi.

She has undergone several courses and training both within and outside Nigeria.. She is presently undergoing additional post graduate studies in the areas of Security and peace.

Imaan is A Politician, A Strategist An Administrator, and a Country Expert in National Security and Conflict management, she is a Mentor and a Coach.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has 3 Awesome children. In her leisure she enjoys spending time with family, cooking, writing, reading, travelling, mentoring, coaching, counseling and proffering solutions and solving problems.
