IMC suspends 3SC official over public misconduct

In the wake of a viral photograph of Shooting Stars Sports Club official urinating publicly on the pitch in their Matchday 9 encounter against Akwa United at Ibadan, the league organizer, Interim Management Committee(IMC) has fined the Oluyole Warriors and suspended the official identified as Auwal Mohammed  from all football related activities for one year.

IMC Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi, in a summary jurisdiction notice sent to 3SC Tuesday morning charged the club for failing to control the conduct of their official and further admonished the club management to take steps to curb an occurrence of such conduct in the nearest future.

In two separate charges for the breaches of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules, the club was cited for breach of Rules C1 and C9.

“You are in breach of Rule C1 in that before the start of the Matchday 9 fixture between 3SC ad Akwa, your camp commandant , Auwal Mohammed was spotted urinating on the playing pitch which is capable of bringing the game into disrepute”

Subsequently, the NPFL hereby imposes on 3SC the following sanctions , fine of N.5m (Five hundred thousand naira only) for bringing the game into disrepute and failing to control the conduct of your official.

An order suspending Auwal Mohammed from all the NPFL related activities for one year effective immediately.

A warning to 3SC to take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the future.

By Rule C26, the 3SC management is required within 48 hours of the date of this notice to either submit to the Summary jurisdiction and the sanctions contained herein or elect a date to be dealth with by a disciplinary panel.

Any such election must be in writing and addressed to the undersigned at the office  of the NPFL. Should you submit to the summary jurisdiction and the prescribed sanctions , kindly note that the fines therein are to be paid within 7 working days, the statement stated
