Imo 2021 budget’ll take care of projects, Osuala assures

Imo state Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics, C. C. Osuala, has assured that the 2021 budget recently signed by Governor Hope Uzodinna will take care of many projects capable of bringing development to all facets of the state.

He gave this assurance while having a chat with our correspondent in his office.

The commissioner said such projects as the Owerri to Okigwe road and the Owerri to Orlu road already awarded to Cranberg Construction Company would cost the state up to N55 billion to put in place and that the roundabouts recently demolished by the governor would be reconstructed and put in a better shape.

He stated that the roundabouts were demolished because studies showed that they contributed to avoidable traffic jams capable of causing accidents on the roads. He stated that the reconstruction would be done in such a way that vehicles would move freely without necessarily putting up statues as was done by ex governor, Rochas Okorocha, who erected statues on them.

Osuala stated that the budget would also take care of new primary and secondary school classroom blocks, renovate schools of nursing in Amaigbo and Ihioma; General Hospitals and all primary health centres in the state.

“The budget will take care of the re awarded Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road, Dick Tiger to Egbu road and its tunnel, Port Harcourt to Ibari Ogwa road and Otamiri Water Scheme,” he further stated
