Imo: Defected PDP lawmakers served court summons

The High Court sitting in Owerri Tuesday served summons on the 10 Imo lawmakers who defected from the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to the All Progressives Congress(APC) a few hours after  the  January 14 declaration  of Senator Hope Uzodinma as the authentic winner of the 2019 governorship election in Imo State by the Supreme Court.

The court bailiff was seen  at the Ojukwu Centre( the temporary abode of Imo lawmakers) a heap of papers, going to the offices of the affected lawmakers.

With this development, the PDP at the national level has finally carried out its threat of instituting a court process to declare the seats of the affected lawmakers vacant in a bid to elect new lawmakers of PDP extraction to occupy the vacant seats.

Blueprint reports that the service of the court papers sent cold shivers down the spines of some of the aides of the affected lawmakers who tried to evade service by directing the court bailiff to other offices not meant to be served. This is to ensure  that they can eventually  claim that they were not served by the court.
