Imo elections: Ugochinyere ends mourning, resumes campaign

The PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ideato North and South Federal constituency, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere has resumed campaigns for his election.

This was contained in a press statement made available to our correspondent  after eighteen days of intensive mourning, it was time to move on, he said.

“Today marks the 18th day since the attack and which was carried out on the day of the third anniversary memorial of Governor Hope Uzodimma was made a Governor of Imo state by people who are not voters in Imo state.

“Gentlemen, today we come to the end of the first phase of our grieving period. Though the remains our loved ones are still in the mortuary but we are convinced that it is our burdened  duty to complete this cause for which they laid down their lives.”

He said the campaigns would continue and that he would win the election.

He had a message for his attackers and he declared: “I therefore call on all our supporters in the Ideato nation once again to remain steadfast, law abiding and strong. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere is back. I am running this election under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party and I will win this election for our party as I urge everyone in Ideato or who knows someone in Ideato to tell them that it is no longer about election and winning but about stopping those who mocked our people when they were being killed and did not do anything to save them when they could have done something.”
