Imo: Ihedioha launches sanitation equipment, fire fighting engines

Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo state at the weekend launched some sanitation materials with which to keep the state, especially Owerri, the state capital clean.

On assumption as governor in May, Ihedioha introduced his sanitation slogan, “Go Green, Stay Clean”, and assured that he would work towards bringing back  lost glory of the state as the cleanest in the federation.

The items displayed at the Heroes’ Square in Owerri  include six refuse evacuation vans to ensure thorough evacuation of refuse on a daily basis and more than 200 iron refuse bins of different sizes to prevent residents from dumping refuse or littering dirt in the streets indiscriminately and many rubber bins to be used by sweepers to ensure thorough cleanliness of the environment.

The governor also bought four fire fighting engines to assist men of the fire service to do their job.
