The country home of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Imo State, Hon Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba at Ubulu-Ihejiofor in Oru West LGA was razed by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Sunday.
Our correspondent gathered that the two houses in his compound were completely set ablaze which left villagers running helter skelter and scampering for safety.
When contacted, Emelumba comfirmed the incident.
A similar incident occurred at a neighbouring village, Ibiasoegbe three days earlier where three persons, including a policenan was killed.
Emeluma is regarded as a member of the kitchen cabinet of the Hope Uzodimma administration and he is one of the commissioners who survived a recent cabinent reshuffle by the governor.
