Imo: Kidnapped Catholic priest regains freedom

A catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Matthias Opara, who was kidnapped last Friday on his way back from the burial of the father of one of his colleagues along Ogbaku/Ejemekwuru road in Imo state has regained his freedom.

A source close to the Archbishop told Blueprint correspondent that the priest was released Sunday unharmed.

However, the Imo Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, who was asked to comment on the situation was yet to make a statement hours after a request to that effect has been made.
