A lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Engr. Sam Egere, has been abducted by gunmen.
According to a release from the President General of Olu Owere (a pressure group) Chief Martin Opara, Egere who is also the Secretary, Board of Trustees (BOT) of Olu Owere, was abducted last Sunday very close to his Ahiazu Mbaise residence and since that day no information has been gottten from the abductors.
Opara, who described the manner he was abducted as brutal, seized the opportunity to call for the immediate and unconditional release of the lecturer.
Meanwhile, the Imo Police Command is yet to make an official statement on the incident.
