Imo: Uzodinma deserves second term, committed to raising bar of governance – APC chieftain

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) former member of the National Executive Committee of Council of the party, Chief Nduka Anyanwu, has commended the giant strides of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Imo State, saying the governor deserves re-election.

Anyanwu who is also the Chairman of Governing Board Council of Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCN), Tuesday, in a statement described Senator Uzodinma as a perfect democrat and true nationalist.

The APC chieftain commended governors of the ruling party for the emergence of Imo Governor as the new chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

Anyanwu said the recent National Honour bestowed on Governor Uzodinma as Commander of the Order of the Niger(CON) by the immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, “is a gesture well deserved.”

Chief Anyanwu, who was also an ex-House of Representatives aspirant during the concluded 2022 APC primaries in Abia state, said Uzodinma’s elevation onto the exalted Chairmanship seat of the APC Governors forum has given an edge to the party towards securing victory in majority of states in south-east geo-political zone.

He cited the giant strides already-layed by the latter’s administration in the state’s economy, infrastructure and security as the advantage and victory wands for the APC to retain the seat of imo governor in coming November, 2023 governorship election by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

The party chieftain noted that the Imo helmsman had also distinquished himself as a true servant of the people in facilitating erections of several federal projects in southeast and further pointed out Uzodinma’s recent approval which saw the official flagged-off of dredging of Oguta lake seaport in imo state by the APC-led federal government of Nigeria last month.

According to Anyanwu, “the dredging of the project begin from Oguta lake, Orashi to Atlantic ocean, is funded by the imo government and the public private partnership (PPP).

“This realization of the dredging projects is ladable feats by the governor. It would among others ensure ease conveyance and transportation of goods or products through our waterways down to the east, and also generates and boost revenue base of the state and engender economic growth in southeast region and the nation.

While further congratulating Governor Uzodinma on the well-deserved honours by the APC governors and the past federal government of Nigeria, Anyanwu, a member of the disbanded 2023 Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress, expressed implicit confidence in the ability of Governor Uzodinma to galvanize his colleagues in the progressive party under a united front in pursuit of good governance for the country and her people.

The former deputy national Publicity Secretary of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), urged imo people to sustain their maximum support to the present state government in the implementation of its development-oriented policies tilted in enhancing their general welfares.

Anyanwu also admonished electorates in the state to vote and reelect Governor Hope Uzodinma for another term in office so as to enable him deliver more impactful developmental projects to the doorsteps of every imolites in deepening the present democratic process in the country in Imo state.

“His monumental developmental strides which he had already-achieved and visibly put on ground are enough to campaign for Governor Uzodinma. One good turn deserve another. Because, he need not to campaign much, imo voters will reaffirm their confidence in the state governor come November 2023 imo gubernatorial poll.

“And finally, i use this great medium to call on candidates of other political parties to withdraw their ambitions, and also collapse and support Uzodinma’s reelection for second term with respective political structures, to enable the governor consolidate the democratic gains made by his administration in this current term in office for our good and imo state,” the Abia party stalwart concluded.
