Imo will be hot for criminals – CP

Imo state Commissioner for Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has warned that henceforth the state will be too hot for criminals, armed robbers, kidnappers and people involved in other forms of immorality.
He, therefore, advised them, in their own interest, to stay clear of the state, stressing that operatives of the Command’s Scorpion Squad had been detailed to all parts of the state.

Ali also warned parents and guardians to carefully monitor the movements of their wards to avoid falling into the waiting hands of the squad.
Meanwhile, the Command’s Scorpion Squad on March 28, 2014, arrested three armed suspects at a petrol station at Awo-omama, Oru East local government area, while on a robbery operation.
One of them died while exchanging fire with the police.

Items recovered were two locally made pistols with 10 live cartridges; one Q link motorcycle with reg. No RLU 383 QF.
Also, on March 31, 2014, the Squad nabbed a five man gang who specialized in snatching vehicles within the eastern states and ferrying them to other parts of the country. They had robbed one Dr Ishmael Nwabueze, the Medical Director of a Specialist Hospital of his Infinity Jeep 2001 model with reg. No SSM 457 AA. Items recovered from them were the above mentioned jeep; two laptops; one LCD television and different kinds of mobile phones.
