In Adamawa, police parades 238 looters, curfew violators

In compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, the Adamawa state police command has arrested and paraded 238 suspects arrested inconnection with looting and vandalisation of public and private properties in the state.
Addressing journalists at a press conference in Yola, the state capital, the state commissioner of Police CP Olugbenga Adeyanju said out of those paraded, 184 were apprehended for breaking and looting of government, private and corporate warehouses while 54 were arrested for violating the state government imposed curfew.


He further said the effort was in collaboration with other security agencies which also led to the discovery of so many items such as 35 farm tractors, 22 hand tractors, 28 hand tractors hoes, ejection sprayers,142 bags of fertilizers among so many items.
CP Adeyanju also disclosed that nine vehicles and 12 tricycles used in convening the looted items were equally recovered.
He then assured that more looted items would be recovered while more suspects would be apprehended.


The CP said after investigations have been concluded, all the suspects will be charged to court.
CP Adeyanju therefore, warned against any further act of criminalities in the state while advising the general public against buying any looted items from the miscreants.
