The Anambra state correspondent of Blueprint newspapers, Mr Okechukwu Onuegbu, would on Friday, December 4, 2020 be decorated as best sports writer of the year 2020 by the state chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
Best sports Writer’s award, first of its kind, is among the events marking the Anambra state 2020 SWAN’s week themed ‘Promoting Sports Through Responsible Journalism’.
The award attracts N50, 000 to awardee.
According to the state chairman of SWAN, Mr Tony Oji, other activities slated for SWAN week were tour of some sports facilities in the state, recognition and award night, meeting/chat with sports stakeholders, novelty match, and Lecture to be delivered by Tony Nezianya, a veteran sports journalist.
Oji assured that SWAN would never relent in its efforts in promoting sports through responsible journalism.
