In Bauchi, NLC lauds Bala for lifting embargo on employment

The Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Friday, commended the state governor, Bala Mohammad, for lifting the embargo on employment in the state’s civil service.

The state shairman, Comrade Dauda Shuaibu, made the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Bauchi.

He said the decision of the present administration to allow for the employment of youth into the civil service was a welcome development.

Shuaibu stated that the decision of Governor Bala to grant approval for the recruitment of over 1,680 workers in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state was long overdue considering the large number of civil servants that are retiring on daily basis.

“Governor Bala Mohammad has approved the recruitment of 1000, teachers of core subjects including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ICT as well as 154 staff at Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare. Also he granted approval for Ministry of Agriculture to recruit 206 extension workers and farm managers. This is a welcome development.

“We want to use this medium to congratulate the Governor on his successful Inauguration as the Executive Governor for the second term in Office. NLC is a partners in progress towards development of the state,” he said.
