In Ebonyi, Umahi declares 24-hour curfew as hoodlums set police station ablaze, near correctional center


Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has declares a 24-hour curfew after hoodlums Wednesday attacked Kpirikpiri police station, Abakaliki and burnt some parts of the station.
They also set a vehicle ablaze. 
They also destroyed other social amenities in the metropolis.


A group of youths who were wearing black attire with some of them appearing half-naked had patrolled the capital city chanting war songs. 
Business transactions in commercial banks hurriedly stopped while people scampered for safety as the hoodlums shot into the air
Some men of the state police traffic team who were controlling traffic on the roads ran away for safety while a mobile policeman who was carrying a lady in his motorcycle was beaten to a pulp with his uniform torn by the hoodlums.


The hoodlums were said to have attempted to gain entrance into Nigeria correctional center in Abakaliki but could not as the Army personnel were around to resist them.
