In Imo, APC dismisses Nwafor as party chair

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State chapter, Monday, described a purported letter surfacing on the internet reinstating Dan Nwafor as the Chairman of the party as fake.

According to the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Cajetan Duke in a statement  “The said letter is not only fake and misleading, but it is also a dramatised case of forgery masterminded by an unintelligent desparado.”
He further said, “It is important to state that there was nothing in the majority judgement delivered by the Supreme Court on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the case between Evan Enwerem and 2 others SC/CV/884/2020 that confers any recognition and legitimacy on Dan Nwafor and his co-travellers. The judgement remains unambiguous and clear.”

The Imo APC spokesman made it clear that “the national leadership of the party, particularly the NWC has never met to issue such directive and could not have written a letter of such magnitude through an unidentified proxy, if it was not an il-conceived “Oluwole” product which Senator Rochas Okorocha’s political family is generally notorious for.

“Our party has an official channel for every authorised and official information and communication. We therefore, wish to appeal to our  party men and women to disregard such irritating falsehood and misleading publication as such did not emanate from the national secretariat of our party.”
