In Kaduna, RUWASSA demands quality, timely delivery of water projects


The Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) has called on contactors to always ensure world class quality and timely delivery on all RUWASSA projects for maximum benefit of the populace.


In conjunction with its developmental partners UNICEF, UKAID, DFID, DGIS Netherlands, the main aim is to construct facilities cutting across the Country to include 100 units of Solar Powered Boreholes, 1000 Blocks of VIP Latrines in schools and health facilities, as well as 3000 units of hand pump boreholes.


The Director General of the Agency, Engr. Ahmed Munir, made the call at the prequalification opening for the procurement of Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) projects at ASAA Pyramid Hotel, Kaduna State. 
Represented by the Legal Adviser RUWASSA, Barrister Mohammed Lawal Ali, the Director General urged the contractors to espouse competence in their work as they will be selected based on merit and would be monitored closely by the agency to ensure full adherence to quality work. 


He further said that the purpose of the gathering was to ensure that contractors, sister MDAs, CSOs, NGOs and the general public witness this selection process. 
The Director Water Supply Mr. John Sarkin-Samari said the opening bid was to create room for the selection of competent contractors that would execute the projects, according to the laid down rules and regulations of Kaduna state and her developmental partners.


The UNICEF representatives Mrs Theresa Pamma and Mr. Murundi Taru along with Mr. Olumuyiwa Benjjoko of the Kaduna state Field Office used the opportunity to acknowledge and thank the Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s led administration for the maximum support it provides WASH programs in Kaduna state.
