In Lagos, sex workers defy arrest, join NLC, demand equal rights on May Day

Sex workers in Lagos State were among the workers who filed out on Wednesday to participate in the May Day celebrations, as they used the occasion to highlight their needs in the society, where they claim to be equal stakeholders.

Filing out in the match past at the Agege Stadium, Lagos, the sex workers defied any untoward reactions and betrayed any form of fear that they might attract arrest to lay down their demands during the event.

Under the aegis of Ohotu Diamond Women Initiative, the sex workers, carried a big banner, with the inscription: “Sex workers need rights, not rescue,” to drive home their point
