In Nasarawa, Police parades 45 suspected cultists, rapist, others

Nasarawa state Police command has paraded 45 suspected criminals in various criminal activities across the state.

Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, stated this while briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Lafia, the state capital on Tuesday.

The commissioner said on June 20 this year, the command based on a tip off arrested one Sheku Nyam Alex “m” of orange market area Mararaba in Karu local government with one german pistol (HECKLER AND KOCH GMBH) with breech number 25-066017, two magazines containing 10 rounds of live ammunition.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed that the pistol was given to him by one Vincent Abbah to sell at the rate of N100,000 after which N30,000 would be given to him for his services, Vincent Abbah was eventually arrested and both suspects have confessed to the crime. Investigation is still ongoing “.

The police commissioner also said the command has arrested four suspected cultists – Friday Mark, Abubakar Bala, Abdulazeez Mabayoyi and Inalegu Destiny all of Kabayi Mararaba area of Kuru local government area, and recovered one expanded 8mm live ammunition from them as exhibit.

“The suspects have confessed to being members of Eiye confraternity operating along Karu area and its environs.

Bola Longe added that a 42 year  Aliyu Adamu, “m” of Bukan Ari Lafia, dragged an eight-year-old girl who was on her way to Islamic school into his compound and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“The suspect was arrested during the act and he claimed that he was motivated to act in that manner because of the dream he had, that if he had sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of five and 10, he will become rich.

“One Abdullahi Abu of Kurikyo village in Lafia LGA was also arrested for alleged solomy with a 10-year-old boy,” he said.

The police boss said within the period, the command had also arrested 12 suspected members of the criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

He urged the general public to always feed the police with useful information that would lead to the arrest of criminals.

The CP also commended the public for their usual co-operation.
