In Nasarawa, Sule wants support for security agencies

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, Friday, tasked stakeholders to strengthen support for security agencies in their efforts towards securing the state for socio-economic development to thrive. 

Sule gave the charge in Lafia, while declaring the one-day stakeholders dialogue on the five points demands presented by EndSARS protesters.

He said peace, security and harmonious co-existence was a collective responsibility of all.

“We are gathered here today to appraise the present security challenge with a view to finding a lasting and sustainable peace, as well as fashion out modalities towards addressing the five points demand raised by the EndSARS protesters.

“I therefore, call on you all to be objective in your contributions, in our collective determination to not only address the five points femand of the EndSARS but also to create the needed serene environment for socio-economic development of our dear state and the country at large,” he said.

The governor however, said government was determined to provide all the necessary support to make the youth productive in the state.

He said, “On our part as a state, this administration made deliberate efforts towards the empowerment of our youths and women in line with our policies and programmes geared towards wealth creation, employment generation and poverty alleviation.”

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment in the provision of security in the country.

Governor Sule also appreciated the efforts of the traditional, religious and youth leaders for supporting his administration’s commitment in calming the situation, and their various roles in ensuring that the youth did not take the law into their hands during the EndSARS protests.

He equally, saluted the security agencies for remaining resilient and focused in the fight against crimes and criminalities in the state, inspite of the growing animosity.
