The Ogun state government has confirmed the passing of the first Nigerian Professor of Medicine, Emeritus Professor Theophilus Oladipo Ogunlesi.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Kunle Somorin, noted that Professor Ogunlesi passed away when his vast experience in the field of Medicine was needed most, especially in the face of challenges militating against human health.
The statement described the death of the state born medical expert as painful.
The Emeritus Professor died on late Thursday at the age of 99.
