In Zamfara, Matawalle sacks special advisers

The Zamfara state governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has today relieved all his special advisers of their appointments.

This was made known by the acting secretary to the state government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, in a statement issued in Gusau Sunday and made available to Blueprint.

The statement stated that the dissolution does not affect the special adviser on security matters.

“This decision is in line with the recent defection to the APC to allow for an in-depth search of more but competent hands in the administration of the state, irrespective of political affiliations,” the statement reads in part.

Governor Matawalle has further directed that all the affected special advisers should hand over affairs of their respective offices and government properties with them to their directors general and/or the accounting officers.

The governor appreciated their contributions in running the government while in office adding that the decision takes immediate effect.
