In Zaria, Iyan Zazzau is dead


The embattled Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Bashir Aminu, is dead.

Alhaji Aminu died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.
Confirming his death, a family member of the late Bashir Aminu said he left Zaria for Lagos last week after his 70th anniversary.

Blueprint reports that later Aminu until his death was a Bursar at defunct Katsina College of Arts, Science and Technology (KCAST) now Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria.

He also served as Bursar Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria and held tittles of Iyan Zazzau and District Head of Sabon Gari, before he was removed by the state government occasioned owing to reform of traditional institutions.

In a related development Talban Zazzau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Iya Pate, also died in his residence in Zaria at the late hours of Thursday after a brief illness 

Late Aminu and Iya Pate have been buried shortly after jumu’at congregational prayer at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria City.
